New Babies
Last Friday we got two new gerbils. Their names are Silver and Sand. Silver is light gray, with a dark grey tail. Sand is a yellow-brown color.

They are so cute. Have you had gerbils before? Are they hard to care for? I've wondered if they might be good pets for our family.

We highly recommend gerbils. They are desert animals that conserve water by producing less waste! More pet, less clean up! They are happy to be awake during the day when you want to play with them. They also spend a good part of the night playing so light sleepers need to sleep someplace else. If you handle them every day, they learn not to bite. Their lifespan is about 2 years. If you are looking for fun indoor pets that aren't too demanding, they are a great choice.

The movie didn't work for us in either IE or Firefox.
It only took a few seconds after seeing the first of your drawings for Snoozer and Niccus to start excitedly asking for the chance to color them. Thanks for making them accessible.

Since seeing the pictures of the gerbils, my kids have been pretending they have gerbils (using several differnt stuffed or plastic animals.) Naomi has even insisted that I call her *Kaeru Hime* when she is playing with the "gerbils."

I am going to make few links to other short movies on my site, but they are a lot smaller. These ones range from 5.1MB-8.8MB (the other one was 20MB, which may have been causing problems).
